Job Title: Radiation Safety Compliance Manager (RSMC)
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Salary: £40,000 plus
Introduction:
Our client has an immediate requirement for a Radiation Safety Compliance Manager (RSMC) in Plymouth, Devon.
The successful candidate will report to the Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) as part of the Nuclear Assurance Group, and maintain our client's company emphasis on all aspects of Radiological Safety, Statutory (Radiological Safety) and Site Licence Compliance.
The Radiation Safety Compliance Manager will primary be responsible to plan, prepare and conduct a programme of radiological safety audits to assure our clients compliance with current legislation.
For the right candidate training will be provided to Lead Assessor standard.
Further responsibilities include the following:
- Sponsorship of Corporate radiological safety documentation.
- Radiological protection advisory support through the Office of the RPA.
- Conduct radiological investigations as directed by the RPA.
- Responsible for Site Emergency Arrangements.
Applicant Requirements:
- You will be a health physicist, holding a postgraduate qualification or equivalent in radiation protection.
- Significant relevant Radiation Protection experience.
- Either hold or be working towards RPA Accreditation.
- Have relevant knowledge of the Radioactive Substances Act 1993 and environmental radiation protection issues.
- Previous technical auditing experience would be an advantage but not essential.
