Large global blue chip supplier of aggregates offering fantastic career opportunity for a Regional Procurement Manager to be based from Durham

Based in Durham,the Regional Procurement Manager will be tasked with transforming and continually managing operational procurement activities into a professional, efficient and effective, value adding high performing sourcing and ordering operation.
Working autonomously, you will engage the operations site managers and internal stakeholders and liaise with Central Procurement teams to ensure the most cost effective contracts are sourced, tendered and maintained across all aggregates sites in the North of England and Scotland.

  • You will define the Procurement strategy, annual objectives and will deliver a programme of continuous improvement against standard frameworks, meeting business unit needs.
  • Leading steering group meetings with Regional Executive team, based in Durham,where your influencing skills will help to lead Policy and Process Implementation in this area.
  • As Regional Procurement Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the management of supplier selection, tendering and performance as well as reporting this back to the business unit.
  • Through collaboration and teamwork you will ensure that processes are improved, initiatives delivered, change embedded, insights enabled and that an overall effective relationship is maintained across the aggregates business.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in Procurement management within manufacturing, construction, engineering, aggregates or large company backgrounds. 
What you have purchased is not important, but the ability to demonstrate strong sourcing know-how, achievement, progression and a desire to change and succeed is essential.
  • Able to manage and purchase a wide scope of products and services and work autonomously.
  • Degree educated and ideally CIPS qualified you will be looking to join a forward thinking business that places importance on procurement in their business model.

The successful applicant for this role will be able to demonstrate their ability to influence internal stakeholders and communicate at all levels within the business. Effective stakeholder management is the key to implementing and driving forward change and process improvement in this area.
