Brief role summary
The Relationship Manager will build internal and external business relationships to grow and develop a portfolio of investment advisory and discretionary clients. This role will build highly proactive, long-term relationships with clients and key business introducers to generate sustained revenue and recruit new clients. The Relationship Manager will use their extensive experience and knowledge to help clients manage their investments, and wider banking needs, whilst showing appreciation for the lifestyle and financial priorities of our international clients. This role requires working with colleagues worldwide to deliver banking and other services, thus ensuring a holistic service for the client. Working flexibly and travelling, the candidate will recognise the need to be available for high value clients whilst assisting with business and change management.
Professional/Technical experience
The right candidate will have significant experience in delivering high quality client portfolio management. They will have spent a high proportion of their career within financial services and will have a thorough understanding and appreciation of
the need to operate to high risk and regulatory standards particularly in their target markets. The successful candidate will have excellent technical competencies such as; profit orientation and business awareness with a client focus, relationship-orientated in a culturally diverse international market and the ability to exert commercial negotiation and influencing skills.
The candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of global economic and political conditions, current affairs and competitor activity and the implication of these on our clients. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a depth of commercial
understanding of the businesses they have supported in the past, coupled with an appetite to build a deep appreciation of the Private Banking sector. A need to understand the importance of client relationships is paramount to the success of this
candidate. Knowing the importance of communication and our desire to closely engage and guide our clients is essential. The right candidate will be comfortable in a fast growing and complex environment and will be able to move effortlessly
between strategic topics to day to day Relationship Manager responsibilities.
Academic and professional qualifications
The role holder will be degree educated (or equivalent) and a first class general academic track record. The preferred candidate will have fully completed at least one financial qualification, experience and understanding of operating to the
highest standards expected by the UK Financial Services Authority. The candidate will be required to maintain a detailed understanding of various policies adopted, including Customer Acceptance procedures, Cross Border Policy, Financial Crimes, Prohibitions and Sanctions Policy KYC, Anti money Laundering policies and fraud prevention, risk avoidance policies and practices.
