Santander Analytics was established to enable Santander to make the “best credit decisions” through the development and management of scorecard models, making the most effective use of analytic resources throughout the group. There are three analytical centres based in Madrid, Sao Paolo and Milton Keynes responsible for managing and developing all of the scorecards for the Santander retail-banking group. As a high profile, forward thinking organisation, we are committed to excellent customer service and value our biggest asset – our staff. When you join Santander Analytics, you will play a vital part in our growth and improvement, and take an exciting step in your career.
Based in Milton Keynes, the UK analytical centre primarily provides models for Santander UK retail (formed from the combination of Abbey, Alliance & Leicester, and Bradford & Bingley branches) and credit cards. These credit risk scorecard models are used for acquisition and account management decisions across the banks’ products and portfolios. Your role will focus on either developing new scorecards on a project basis, or managing a suite of scorecards, providing business interpretation of their performance and revising the scorecards as necessary to take account of changing behaviours.
Qualified to degree level in a numerate discipline (Maths, Statistics, Sciences, Engineering, Economics) or equivalent you will possess exceptional numerical reasoning skills with a passion for business analysis and finding commercial value in data. You’ll have strong communication, relationship and influencing skills with the ability to explain the results of complex analysis to a non-technical audience and have the confidence to bring change in areas out of your control. Familiarity with statistical concepts, proficient and experienced in SAS programming, and previous experience of credit risk management in retail financial services would be a huge advantage.
