This Surrey based organisation who lead the market in medical research within their field are recruiting for a Running Events Fundraiser to work on their annual programme of events that includes the London Marathon, the British 10k London Run, Great North Run and others. The successful candidate will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual who has the ability to organise, manage and implement plans and initiatives for the portfolio of running events currently active. You will be expected to maintain all existing events and develop new sources of support and income and will need to ensure integration from other areas of fundraising.
MAIN DUTIES:
Events management from start to finish including ensuring timely applications from participants as well as sourcing and managing volunteer s and staff, arranging pre and post event promotions and events, and ensuring timely delivery of sponsorship income.
Development of fundraising events including development of the runners network, researching new events and production of development reports.
Budget planning and evaluation.
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
Self starter with the ability to use own initiative and work independently as well as part of the wider fundraising function.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Good organisational office skills.
Ability to juggle deadlines and keep calm under pressure.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Previous proven experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and experience of running events, in particular the London Marathon
Proven track record in project development and implementation
