SENIOR ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER (Chemical)

£30 ph - £36 ph on days
Proactive Personnel are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to work at their facility based near Chester. The company have a very stable global client base and produce an instantly recognisable product range.
THE SENIOR ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER
To manage and control the engineering requirements of the plant in order to achieve manufacturing performance required by the business whilst meeting SHE and Engineering standards.
KEY TASKS
- The engineer will be the technical expert for all E&I matters and custodian of all equipment within his/her area.
- They will exercise their responsibilities through, and supply support to, the wider engineering team.
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair and calibration of a wide range of instrumentation, control and electrical equipment.
- Devise and implement Maintenance Strategies for the plant in order to achieve Business and Manufacturing targets
- Control and improve the engineering standards for the plant in order to comply with Statutory and Company requirements
- Support the preparation and control of the annual engineering budget for the plant in order to satisfy the section, site and business requirements
- Manage and develop staff within the multi disciplined (M/E/I) engineering team in order to maximise their contribution to the plant and business
- Develop and implement engineering training plans for E/I staff within the production area to ensure effective use of resources
- Support the management and control of the strategic plans and annual engineering work programme ensuring that core, project and overhaul work is specified and scheduled in order to meet production requirements
- Lead and manage the plant reliability improvement team in order to achieve the required business standards for manufacturing performance
- Manage the scoping specification installation and commissioning of capital projects
THE SUCCESSFUL SENIOR ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER
·Graduate or equivalent in Control and Instrumentation
·The successful candidate should have at least 5 years experience within the chemical, petrochemical or pharmaceutical industries.
·Good projects experience
·Understanding of, and experience with, modern instrumentation and control systems.
·Knowledge of LV electrical distribution systems.
·Understanding the requirements and implementation of IEC 61508
