A fantastic opportunity exists for a Senior Acoustic Consultant with a strong background in Environmental and/or Building noise to join a well established Acoustic Firm in Newcastle. The organisation covers all aspects of acoustic consultancy with a dynamic range of ongoing projects including education, healthcare, office, residential, retail, leisure and industrial developments. Ideally, you will have the ability to consult across many areas of noise and vibration and possess the aspiration to develop the business in your preferred field. Qualifications Educated to a BSc/MSc level in Acoustics/Noise and Vibration A full driving license is essential
Salary: Up to £35,000 dependent on experience
Experience 5 years senior post graduate experience in Acoustic Consultancy within Environmental or Building sectors A proven track record in effective project and financial management Ability to use and instruct others in the use of sound and vibration meters Highly organised and IT literate Exhibit excellent communication skills Ability to write fluent and intelligible reports, placing a high emphasis on accuracy and consistency Personal experience of Noise Modeling using a recognized software package Strong project and people management skills are essential
Duties Resolve complex acoustical engineering issues assuring compliance with statutory bodies Conduct Residential Planning Applications and Sound Insulation Design in accordance with PPG24 Summarise data interpretations and provide conclusions Supervise and co-ordinate the work of others Carry out Air Leakage and Sound Insulation testing with BINDT and UKAS accreditation Manage project teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines Financial forecasting and control of projects to ensure that they remain within budget Build client relationships, respond to enquiries, communicate with clients to establish their needs and draft fee proposals Provide technical guidance and mentor junior members of the team Contribute to group expansion and develop and maintain business through networking, contact nurturing and presentations
Projects You will be involved in developing projects of varying size from prestigious award winning buildings to upgrading the sound insulation of a single wall. Typical projects include education, healthcare, office, residential, retail, leisure and industrial developments.
