Our client, an established, successful and dynamic organisation based in Swindon is currently looking for an SQL Database Administrator to join them.They are looking for someone to be flexible and work effectively as part of the internal IT team in providing database support (building queries/reports, ad-hoc analysis, etc.) to internal users. To build new databases supporting new clients based on an existing generic database schema fronted by an internally developed .NET front-end.You will also be required to build reports, both enduring and ad-hoc, to enhance the generic system and also in support of specific client requirements. To install and manage any technical upgrades that are required. To assist in the design and development of new requirements – both generic and client specific. To be pro-active in making suggestions for improvements.
Accountabilities:Technical experience covering MS SQL Server 2005 is essential:
- Database design and development
- Designing ETL (extract; transform and load) routines
- Data auditing of incoming and outgoing files
- System testing
- Performance monitoring and tuning of solutions
- Design and production of reports, including of SSRS
- Database administration and support
- Clear and precise system documentation
Desirable technical experience would include:
- Some exposure to .NET development
- Knowledge of information security basics
