Sales Manager

Job Purpose

To promote this 5* venue to the Corporate and Private business sectors as an Exclusive Use Venue and to achieve financial targets.To cross sell other areas of the venue.

Job Tasks

  1. Jointly responsible for the planning, production and execution of a targeted sales programme with the Sales & Marketing Director and General Manager on a three month rolling programme to generate business for venue.
  2. To work with an agreed number of Agency/DMC accounts locally and within London.
  3. To perform an agreed number of tele-sales calls to obtain an agreed number of external appointments (leads will be provided) to promote and present the venue and cross sell other areas according to a monthly plan agreed with the Sales & Marketing Director and General Manager.
  4. To be jointly responsible with the Sales & Marketing Director for the administration of a sales system and reports.
  5. To communicate effectively with the Events Manager to establish date availability and be constantly aware where dates are unavailable to ensure professionalism when handling an enquiry.
  6. To be aware of weekly sales figures, forecasts and budgets.
  7. To attend Sales Meetings.
  8. Ensure knowledge of competition and market trends are accurate at all times.
  9. To cross sell other areas of the venue and ensure leads are obtained and passed to relevant departments for follow-up.
  10. To assist the Sales & Marketing Director when requested, with the marketing of the venue for Corporate and Private Business within the UK, Europe and Internationally.
  11. Assist with the implementation of promotional ideas to increase sales revenue.
  12. To ensure all correspondence sent on behalf of the company meet company standards.
  13. To be fully aware of Tariffs and private room rates.
  14. To submit a typed monthly report in standard format of all sales activities to the Sales & Marketing Director, to include detailed results of;
    1. Number of tele-sales call made with any follow-up action
    2. External appointments made and resulting action
    3. To record provisional business held, numbers, value and business area
    4. Record confirmed business
    5. Record lost/regret business and reasons why
Candidate Profile

Work Related Experience

  1. Must demonstrate experience in face to face sales role representing a 5* Hotel Venue
  2. Excellent, concise and professional telephone manner essential.
  3. Possess exceptional communication and organisation skills.
  4. Proven track record of achievement in sales and achieving targets.
  5. Must have very good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems (training will be provided for CRM).
