British Gas is the largest gas and electricity supplier for the UK residential market, and has a services and businesses division. We are currently looking to recruit two articulate and ambitious Sales Team Managers to fulfil an operational role within the Central Heating Installations (CHI) area of British Gas.

Sales Team Manager (Bromley) - The Overview:
  • Salary £29,000. Package to circa £75,000.
  • Excellent career opportunity within a business unit of Centrica, a top 30 FTSE 100 company.
  • Location: Bromley Area (South East / East London).

The Sales Team Manager (STM) has first line responsibility for a team of Heating Sales Advisors (HSA) and Installation Technical Surveyors (ITS). In addition, the STM is required to undertake sales activity (60% of time) for a specified part of the working week.




Sales Team Manager (Bromley Area) - The Position:
  • Personally deliver sales for your region (60% of time) as well as managing a team of Sales Advisers (40% of time).
  • Support the Area Sales Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the sales region, and assist with the allocation of resources within the team to ensure workload requirements are met.
  • Manage a team of HSAs and ITSs, ensuring that performance targets are achieved through effective people management and coaching. The STM will create a positive working environment by living and promoting the British Gas vision and values.
  • Proactively encourage lead generation within the team, and undertake selling activity during 60% of the week.
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience by taking responsibility for improving Net Promoter Score (NPS) throughout the team and region, and seeking resolution to customer complaints.
  • Actively encourage and build relationships across the British Gas business, and with key stakeholders and external resources, sharing knowledge and best practice.



Sales Team Manager (Bromley Area) - The Person:

The successful candidate will have all of the following skills and experience, which must be succinctly proved on their CV.

  • A sales manager with a track record (on your CV) of hitting your personal and team sales targets.
  • An excellent communicator, with proven ability to engage diverse audiences and challenge key stakeholders.
  • Track record of managing relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales goals and financial objectives, including excellence in customer service, within a complex consumer business.
  • Effective time management and excellent organisational skills in a busy working environment, with the ability and capacity to work flexibly.
