Buyer - Retail
Salary: £50k Basic + Car Allowance + Benefits
Based: North West, UK
Our client is a leading retailer looking to recruit an experienced purchasing professional due to continued growth and success.
The role of buyer is a senior position within the business, reporting directly to the divisional head and managing a team of assistant buyers.
You will be an influential key member of the business making critical business decisions with a high degree of responsibility and freedom to act upon your decisions.
Key responsibility’s:
• long term strategy and commercial viability including cost negotiation and product profitability
• Range development and control space allocation for ranged items
• Source ranged and non-ranged
• Promotional product sourcing and develop and review annual promotional plans
• Manage relationships externally and internally
• Work closely with Supplier Account Handlers
• Involved with all business and commercial decision making to ensure maximum profits
• Agree promotional pagination
• Manage ad hoc promotions
• Personally draw up plans; taking into account meterage allocation, product flow, product blocking and price points
• Monitor stock levels and work with operations accordingly
The Person:
You must be an experienced purchasing professional with a retail or wholesale background. This is a senior position with man management responsibility and you must be able to demonstrate this experience in your career to date.
You must have product sourcing experience and be able to demonstrate your knowledge of products and categories.
