Within Civil Engineering, part of a Group division, a vacancy exists for a Senior Civils Estimator based from In Inverness.

The successful applicant with be responsible for:

·To provide accurate cost estimates and supporting technical information to enable the Company to submit competitive tenders.

·Promote the client, its image, interest, reputation and standing within the business community.

·Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with the Buying Department in the selection of appropriate companies from whom quotations should be sought.

·Produce Bills of Quantities from plans and specifications.

·Identify and analyse risks and produce risk register.

·Attend tender settlement meetings ensuring all relevant cost information is available for presentation and complete the tender as instructed.

·Produce Contractor’s Proposals Documentation.

·Maintain regular contact with departments to obtain feedback on costs, technical and commercial performance.

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Experience on producing estimates on schemes valued £5 - £35 million.
• Experience within the following sectors: roads, bridges and ground engineering.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational skills / ability to work to tight deadlines.
• A strong personality who can persuade and motivate others.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Be IT literate with a working knowledge of CCS Candy pricing software.

Qualifications:

• HNC, HND, BSc, BEng, MEng
