You will be responsible for defining and executing the marketing
strategy for a series of events within specific industry portfolios.
Managing a bespoke marketing budget for each event, you will take
ownership of the planning phase and co-ordinate its delivery post sign
off.
You will need to understand how to maximise the effect of all direct
marketing channels in the B2B market and tailor your approach for each
event.
These would include advertising, direct mail, email broadcasts,
promotions and press releases to name but a few.
You will also be involved in developing new business concepts and ideas
to expand the conference/event agenda as well as delivering on repeat
business over the course of the year.
You will work with and influence a conference team comprising event
managers, producers, researchers, and sales people both from a delegate
and a sponsorship perspective getting involved in every facet of event
management.
You will also be responsible for negotiating contracts with external
suppliers and trade partners and will need to be tenacious and
commercial in your approach.
This is a role for an energetic marketer manager who enjoys a fast paced
high pressure dynamic environment and is ambitious and motivated to
succeed. You will have the autonomy and the time to be creative whilst
ensuring you deliver a product of the highest quality on time and within
budget.
The individual must:
- Have at least one year of direct marketing
experience as a commercial conference marketing manager / executive in
the B2B space.
- Be experienced in putting together marketing
campaigns/plans, overseeing and executing it as well as coming up with
the overall strategy.
- Be experienced in negotiating contra deals
with external parties: institutions, associations, publications, trade
magazines.
- Have experience in all aspects of DB marketing:
including online marketing, direct mailing, and database manipulation.
- Be
experienced in creating pre and post event analysis, taking into
consideration ROI, internal and external data performance and
demographic performance.
- Have a very high level if IT literacy,
specifically with excellent Excel and database skills.

The individual must be:
- Analytical and numerical (experienced in
various marketing report/statistic and analysis techniques)<./li>
- An
excellent negotiator (in order to establish contra-deals with media
partners as well as clients)
- Organised: you will be managing
more than one marketing campaign at the time, so you will need to be
very well organised to achieve the optimum result across all workloads.
- A
great communicator (to deal with people at all levels).
- Commercial
minded.
- Able to work under pressure.
