Our Client, a leading international engineering consultancy with expertise in environmental services has an urgent requirement for a Senior Acoustic Consultant with a strong and in depth technical knowledge of environmental noise. You will manage and complement an enthusiastic team of noise specialists in their office in Glasgow.

Salary: £30-£40K Depending on experience

Qualifications
BEng Mechanical Engineering or degree qualified in a relevant subject area

Experience
5 years+ senior post graduate experience in Acoustic Consultancy within the Environmental and/or Buildings fields
Be able to use and be fully conversant with commonly used noise and vibration instrumentation including transducers, analysers and all accessories.
Be able to demonstrate correct use of equipment to junior engineers.
Responsibility for overseeing projects from proposal stage through to completion
Experience of both onshore and offshore projects
The ability to demonstrate a proven track record in effective project and people management.
Have a clear understanding of the application of various simulation packages (FEA, CFD, acoustic simulation, surge analysis etc). Specific experience in the use of such packages (e.g. COSMOS, ANSYS, PULS, PipeNET) would be desirable.
Strong project management skills.
Qualified to appear at Public Enquiry Level

Duties
Complete proposals for new projects with minimal Principal Consultant oversight
(all technical and commercial aspects).
Liaise with client personnel on site and at all other stages of the project
Presentation of expert evidence at Public Inquiries
Display leadership skills within small teams in the office and on site as required.
Resolving complex acoustical engineering issues assuring compliance with statutory bodies
Complete preparation of invoices and demonstrate cost control and understanding of all commercial aspects of project control.
Act as a mentor for junior engineers in all aspects of consultancy; this involves formal training and informal assistance and guidance on a daily basis (in the office and on site).
Overseeing and contributing to the planning and execution of acoustics, noise and vibration projects
Initiate projects and perform all technical aspects
Managing noise issues related to the planning process
Provide Quality Assurance for work performed by junior engineers on project deliverables including all reporting.
Preparation of reports for planning applications, environmental statements and noise chapters for environmental impact assessments
Provide advice to housing developers and construction companies, architects, building service engineers, quantity surveyors/project managers, building control bodies and others involved in the design and/or construction of new buildings.
