SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER, BASED SURREY TO £40K + BENEFITS
(CUSTOM BUILT VEHICLES - SOLIDWORKS)
Please note that it is a pre-requisite that you must be a British Passport holder to be considered for this role.
Our Client is a highly respected Global Manufacturer of specialist armour / armour protected vehicles for Law Enforcement and VIP / Staff Protection requirements.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this role, (created by growth), will see you designing and developing products for manufacture (DFM). The role is heavily CAD biased, utilising Soildworks 3D modelling software. The core emphasis of the role is focused on designing metallic structural assemblies. Part of the role will see you establishing data packs for issue to production manufacturing facilities both in England and/or Jordan. In addition, the Senior Design Engineer will be involved in detailed component design and integration onto existing and modified chassis for specialist vehicles. You will also be making improvements to current designs, making recommendations, and will be able to react to base vehicle changes made by the manufacturer.
The successful candidate is likely to have the following key attributes:
ESSENTIAL
Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, (or similar, i.e. automotive engineering)
Design of fabricated structures
Several years of Automotive and / or specialist vehicle design.
DESIRABLE
Solidworks experience (highly preferred)
Knowledge of Ballistic / Blast protection will be of additional interest.
Design for Manufacture
Buses, Coaches, Armoured Vehicles, Military / Defence Vehicles
Basic FEA Knowledge
DFMEA
