Siemens Plc - Senior Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Consultant Engineer - Roke Manor Research - Romsey
Owned by Siemens, Roke is an innovative solutions provider and contract R&D specialist. It pioneers developments in electronic sensors, information processing, networks and communications technology, providing products and services to Siemens businesses, Government departments, and commercial customers. Roke is currently recruiting for a Senior Consultant Engineer to be a leading technical authority in baseband system and Digital Signal Processing technology (DSP) areas. The role is to provide knowledge to and potentially manage projects and bids, to define technical approaches and lead the development of their technology and associated engineering processes.
Role:
*Provide specialist systems and DSP engineering expertise to optimise and enhance the application of existing and emerging technology.
*Define the technical approach, estimates and content to bids in conjunction with Project/Bid Managers
*Provide system technical authority for systems
*Provide technical leadership of customer meetings and providing customer support where required
*Implement leading engineering process improvements in the area of DSP and baseband.
*Provide technical coaching/mentoring of other staff
*Team leading and task co-ordination
*Maintain and grow relevant technical skills and domain knowledge
*Fulfil tasks to time and budget within Roke processes, including multiple concurrent activities
*Provide authoritative review on other people's work
*Leading DSP technical strategy, primarily within the Digital Processing technology centre.
Experience:
*Demonstrable DSP research and development experience in the disciplines described above. Market domains may include but not limited to Mobile Communications, Defence and National Security
*Telecommunications and Radar algorithm theory
*System design methodologies
*Behavioural modeling (incl use of Matlab, Simulink and high level of languages such as C/C++
*Real-time software development
*Complex FPGA design, implementation using VHDL and verification.
*DSP & FPGA implementation platforms - TI C64x, OMAP Series, ADI TigerSHARC / Blackfin series, Picochip, PIC, ARM;, Xilinx / Altera FPGA series
*Experience of high frequency digital printed circuit board
