Due to a strategic reorganisation of the Service Delivery area we now require a Director of Network Engineering, from a network service provider background. You will be responsible for global network engineering and operations across the Services organisation, including Internet facing Wide Area Networks and Data Centre Local Area Networks. Ensuring the operations and scalability of the network to respond to the consumer and service volumes.
Main Responsibility Areas ·Manages global teams responsible for the design, implementation and support of all Network Engineering components across Services. ·Defining, maintaining and operating network standard architecture that scales to billions of users, ensuring high availability and scalability 24x7x365. ·Utilizing technologies from Cisco, F5 and other vendors as standards across global consumer facing data centres. ·Additionally responsible for managing the WAN, transit and peering arrangements and Content Delivery Network (CDN) Operations. ·Overall responsibility for the health of the network, security, new deployments and ensuring highly available connectivity throughout global network infrastructure. ·Overall responsibility for global WAN/LAN Network engineering and operations including overall uptime, network planning, network engineering and deployment. ·Lead in the design and deployment of network architectures. ·Prepare and execute on network budget planning. ·Evaluate and manage vendor partners and relationships. ·Contribute to the design, evolution and implementation of global KPI's. ·Mentor, coach and evaluate network engineering and operations teams. ·Participate in the development of policies & procedures in standardising and improving network availability and performance.

Skills and Competencies ·Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience) ·Network Service Provider environment highly desired ·Background operating in a Cisco/F5 infrastructure ·Expertise and experience with Network Equipment and protocols incl BGP, IPSEC, EIGRP, Multicast, QOS, VLANS, Spanning Tree, SNMP, PCI compliance & Security background preferred ·Very good overall understanding of the various needed Service Management (ITILv) processes especially in the Service Operations area, SLAs and management tools/practices ·Related Service Delivery competencies required include e.g.: Networking Hardware (Routers, Switches, Load balancers) ·Network infrastructure Protocols/Services: e.g. TCP/IP, NFS, DNS, SMTP, SSH, Data Centre Design/Management (Layout, Power, Cooling, Cabling)
