My client provides technical consultancy services to owners of power generating assets. Their clients own and operate nuclear, coal, gas fired and hydro stations with capacities from 4GW to less than 1 MW and our services typically relate to supporting them, getting optimum value from those assets.
They require Electrical Engineers and/or Control and Instrumentation Engineers to support their growing Generation office. Work opportunities range from close-in support to local power station operators to due diligence projects in Europe and Asia.
Responsibilities
The role will involve working as part of a growing team producing work for the power and energy industries. Work will involve engineering design/advice and may include the following:
*Leadership of Projects and Project Teams
*Liaison with clients
*Site survey and inspection activities
*Analysis and design
*Specification writing
*Trouble shooting and problem-solving
*Technical/commercial due-diligence advice

Requirements
Essential:
Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic or Control and Instrumentation Engineering
A sufficient and appropriate level of relevant industrial experience
UK security clearance - Due to the nature of work undertaken at clients' site offices, candidates will need to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance and should therefore be willing to undergo a security vetting process.
Desirable Experience:
A track record of leading projects or teams
Chartered or working towards Chartered status
Previous experience in the nuclear or power generation industry
Experience of working within a safety-related environment
Previous experience gained within a consultancy/commercial environment
Knowledge of the project, safety, IECD 61508, safety case, integrity targets and functional safety
