Senior Electronics Design Engineer –Satellite,Microwave Radio Communication Systems – Defence.
ESSENTIAL - qualification and experience needed by applicants
UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
Experience of design of satellite and radio (Tropo, High frequency, Digital Microwave Radio System, Secure Mobile Radio) communications systems and a detailed knowledge of space and other radio frequency bearer communications systems.
Proven track record in similar role, working to tight timescales on large multi-element projects.
Good standard of written and spoken English.
Business experience in the Defence Sector.
Experience in delivery of communications services.
Experience of living or working in the Middle East.
SC clearance.
The Senior Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible to the Engineering Manager for the delivery of cost-effective, low-risk, through-life design solutions compliant with customers' requirements, capable of onward implementation and support by the Company in accordance with established contractual obligations andCompany procedures.
To be the Company s technical subject matter expert in this field.
To update and maintain technical product, practice and Standards knowledge in accordance with market developments as appropriate.
To manage Design Engineers as appropriate in support of project objectives.
To work closely with other business functions as appropriate according status of the project (New Business, Project or Managed Services).
Travel to Saudi Arabia on business.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To produce cost-effective, low-risk, through-life design solutions compliant with customers requirements, capable of onward implementation and support by the Company in accordance with established contractual obligations and Company procedures (Design review; ConfigurationControl; SOPs; As built drawings etc).
To produce and review method statements, designs, risk assessments as appropriate.
Provide ILS input/data as appropriate.
Ensure all design documentation is professional and complete for Test Acceptance and Technical Transfer.
Provide engineering support for existing designs.
Define and review subcontractor proposals for design, installation, testing commissioning and acceptance testing.
Supervise sub-contractor works as appropriate.
Maintain position as subject matter expert for the Company.
Must be prepared to travel to Saudi Arabia on business.
