A leading Swedish Oil and Gas exploration and production company is looking for a well qualified Geoscientist for their Stockholm offices.
You will be an experienced Geoscientist/
Prospect Generator and Evaluator with skills within:
- excellent handle on seismic interpretation, Kingdom, Petrel or equivalent
- solid geological understanding and experience in prospect assessment
- experience from working with basins in key geographical areas is qualifying
The tasks are varying, including application round work, farm-in evaluations and follow-up of interesting exploration and development licenses in our key geographical areas offshore West Africa, Norway and the Baltic Sea.
Further specification:
We are primarily looking for somebody with minimum significant oil company experience, ideally from a well reputed company.
You shall be able to perform 2D and 3D seismic interpretation on one of the main interpretation platforms, preferably on Kingdom Suite and/or Petrel, however it is also acceptable with experience from Landmark, Geoquest, IESX or similar.
Typical work requirements are:
Produce structure maps in time and depth
Depth conversion
Isopach maps
Attribute maps and analysis, AVO analysis, inversion, for reservoir and fluid prediction
Volume calculations using GeoX
Prospect generation and assessment, including risking. This requires understanding of a petroleum system and its building blocks: reservoir, source rock and seal. Ability to assess individual prospects within the play. This involve knowledge about basin evolution, structural evolution, stratigraphy, sedimentology and diagenesis , geochemistry and basin modelling, pore pressures etc.
Report writing and presentation
Assistance will be given for relocation but an ex-pat deal is not on offer so whilst relocation costs may be covered, you will need to fund your own accommodation costs out of your salary (along with any commuting should you not be a Swedish national).
