As a world leader in its field, my client offers the full spectrum of geotechnical consulting services. Through consultation from an early stage in the project we are able to advise our client how to get the best value out of the ground.
The role will inviolve General geotechnical design including foundations, retaining structures, embankments and slopes.
Working closely with principal designers to lead Geotechnical Design.
Managing the production of drawings and reports and preparing co-ordinating geotechnical specifications.
Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines.
Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs.
Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
Skills
Academic Background will include:
BEng in Civil Engineering or a BSc in Geological Sciences supplemented by an MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering/Soil Mechanics or Foundation Engineering and have achieved professional qualification.
Proven track record in the field of geotechnical design and experience across a range of medium to large scale projects and / or building types.
Be able to design and deliver geotechnical engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects.
Experience of planning, managing, supervising and interpreting ground investigations.
Working knowledge of industry standard software for geotechnical design.
Good appreciation of geotechnical construction process.
Appreciation of contaminated land/waste issues would be an advantage.
Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects.
Able to quickly develop successful client
