ASA's client is a large public sector body based in central Edinburgh.
Due to a re-organisation within the internal audit department they now seek to recruit an experienced internal auditor to join an established team reporting to the Audit Manager.
The role of the department is to provide professional internal audit service spread over 100 projects. The department provides reports on every entity within the organisation covering internal control on a wide range of financial and non financial processes.
Duties and responsibilities will include
Planning audit work within agreed deadlines and time budgets
Develop a working knowledge of standards good internal control practices and software used for audit purposes.
Maintain awareness of issues and risks within departments
Develop an audit plan allocating audit topics resulting in a clear and focussed outline and audit programme and testing schedule
Produce high quality audit reports adding value to the organisations departments
Supervise junior staff to deliver specific audits
Participate in a range of investigation work as directed by the audit manager
The successful candidate will have at least four years internal audit experience gained working for a large company or public sector body and educated to degree or HND level. He/she will have excellent presentation, communication and writing skills, well developed time management skills and the ability to work with a range of people across different departments.
