The company
Our clients are a leading provider of market intelligence and advice to client companies in the high-tech industry. Their work covers areas such as mobile phones and smart phones, satellite navigation, mobile applications and services, PCs, consumer electronics, enterprise networking, security and telecommunications. These industries are fast-moving, so the need to keep up with the latest trends in the market is vital. A successful, international company with a flexible, hard-working and client-focused culture, they work with the biggest names across the high-tech sector and are relied upon for impartial, timely and high-quality market insight.
The role
Based in their UK office near Reading, you will support our experienced market analyst teams by helping design, project-manage and analyse surveys of technology users/buyers, in both the consumer and business markets. You will be expected to engage directly with clients and prospects of the syndicated market intelligence and custom research services we provide as well as support other analysts and consultants in their use of the survey results.

The main responsibilities will include:
* Overall design and execution of survey-led, technology-oriented market research projects, both regular (to feed into multi-client continuous information services) and ad-hoc (in response to single-client, custom research requests)
* Liaising with market analysts and clients, as well as applying own knowledge and experience, to come up with great surveys that deliver valuable insight into current and future trends in customer or partner attitudes and behaviour
* Negotiation with, selection and management of external market research agencies, including overseeing project quality
* Analysis, interpretation and communication of results and recommendations - verbally, in short reports, presentations, etc, both internally and to clients

Experience and skills needed

You must be highly numerate, with both analytical and reporting experience and be comfortable using spreadsheets, presentation and analytical software. You will have great attention to detail and good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Personal or professional interest or research experience in the technology sector, particularly around PCs and mobile devices, applications and services, would be advantageous, as would additional language skills. You will have an excellent university degree, as well as relevant work experience.

This is a great opportunity to work in an exciting industry with excellent long-term career opportunities within the company. The company offers a friendly and flexible working environment, the potential for fast progression, foreign travel, a competitive salary, profit-sharing and a range of other benefits.
