Senior Mechanical / Structural Design Engineer, Newcastle upon Tyne. Our prestigious global engineering client, are currently looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical / Structural Design Engineer to join their team on a full time basis in the North East. A well established company, our client are renown and trusted in the engineering sector, supplying directly to the Oil & Gas and Construction industry around the world. Our client are looking to bring someone with experience of Ansys in to the team with the view to developing a career to Lead Engineer status. There is geniune scope to develop further with our client as they are keen to attract the best engineering talent to their team. Position Responsibilities Mechanical and structural design of company products and systems for power generation, oil and gas and similar industrial projects worldwide Producing cost effective designs, in compliance with specified requirements, within budget and to pre-defined deadlines Participating in research and development of new products and optimisation of existing product range Provision of technical support to sales, projects, manufacturing and customer service departments Reviewing of client specifications, clearly identifying technical, engineering and commercial requirements and risks Early identification of any delays to time schedule or budget over-runs and highlighting these to management Completion of specific allocated tasks to agreed schedules, in accordance with defined budgets Identification of areas of improvement in design working methods or efficiencies Researching and keeping abreast of latest technologies and developments in field of expertise Participates in site visits, meetings or direct communications with customers or field offices to assist in resolution of problems or complaints Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Position Qualifications: - Minimum education: Engineering degree or equivalentMinimum experience:
- Minimum Five years in an associated field of engineeringMinimum skills / knowledge: Detailed knowledge of field
- Must have: Although this package won't be used all of the time, you will need to have sound working knowledge of Ansys.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
