Senior Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience The Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer Sole Mechanical Design Engineer on site reporting into the Technical Director, duties include:-
Project Management
Project management / control and liaison with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Representing and attending project reviews with large OEM’s, responsible for prototype / tooling
Budgets and also for project planning and ensuring schedules are met.
Product Design
Concept, aesthetic and mechanical engineering design for all products.
Primarily plastic injection moulded parts and metal-formed components.
Originating of artworks for labels, instruction leaflets and packaging.
The Candidate: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer
Extensive 3D solid modelling skills are essential, ideally Solid Edge but this is not essential
In-depth cradle to grave project management experience, including customer liaison is essential
Detailed knowledge of designing plastics (injection moulded parts) is essential
Understanding of tooling requirements, specifying rough tool layout and approving final tool
AutoCAD Light 2D desirable
