Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer, York, North Yorkshire; Systems / Infrastructure Management
Our client is one of the world’s premier Microsoft Gold partners and a leading managed service provider that specialise in high end application and infrastructure management.Due to expansion they are currently seeking a Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer to join their team.
The successful Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer will be responsible for the daily management of current infrastructure plus the design and deployment of new infrastructure and application platforms. You will take a Senior and lead role in the proactive management of client systems.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:-·
- Ensuring the availability of enterprise customer systems, applications and infra-structure by pro-active management, maintenance and monitoring.
- Carrying out agreed support procedures within SLAs.
Responsible for day-to-day technical quality and technical resolution of one or more customer services.
Incident management, change management and problem management duties.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:-- Core Microsoft Server Technologies
- Active Directory
- Networking (TCP/IP and related services)
- Web Technologies
- Databases
- Project Management
- Enterprise Systems Management
- Team leadership skills and a keen sense of responsibility
- The ability to examine a solution in a technical and commercial view with the aptitude to balance the two in the resolution of any issue.
- This role will involve considerable customer liaison and some project management responsibilities, therefore you must have excellent communication skills.
Any of the following would be highly desirable:-
- Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM)
- Sharepoint, MOSS Commerce, Biztalk
- MCSE / MCSA
- Knowledge of ITIL
