One of Europe's largest multidisciplinary consultancies currently have an excellent opportunity for a Senior marine ecologist to join their Scotland based environmental team to provide expert advice and consultancy services for projects in the marine renewable and power sectors.

The opportunity exists for a marine and coastal ecology expert with considerable industry experience to join the growing Scottish ecology team, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will hold a particular expertise in the area of Marine mammals, and experience in other species groups will be at an advantage (sea birds, fisheries).

* Qualification- Candidates for this role are anticipated to hold a relevant academic background with a BSc / MSc in Marine ecology / similar, full membership of an appropriate professional body / chartered status anticipated.
* Location- Scotland
* Experience- Candidates are anticipated to hold demonstrable experience of working in an ecology consultancy environment with strong skills in marine ecology, EcIA and EIA projects. Report writing, project management and client liaising skills are a must have. The successful candidate will be well rounded and able to build and develop a specialist marine ecology team.

* Salary- £40,000 plus benefits

Duties Include:
- Large scale project management
- Staff management and mentoring
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders
- Providing expert advice on relevant policy and legislation
- Report writing
- Delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments
- Business development
- Working on development led and conservation led projects

Typical Projects
Marine renewables, marine conservation and marine spatial planning projects, including off shore wind farm developments and port and harbour developments and coastal protection zone research and guidance.
