Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Project Services manager, the Senior Project Engineer-Customer Service`s role has several dimensions:
Prime technical contact with customers.
Support Project Service and Engineering departments as required to maintain completion dates for engineering activities surrounding plant upgrades, retro-fits, and re-designs.
Provide Process and Design engineering support and technical advice to both internal and external customers in the areas of plant construction and start-up, process control, water treatment, OTSG troubleshooting, and instrumentation.
Overall technical responsibility of the OTSG proper for assigned contracts/jobs.
Takes lead on vendor related issues including generating specifications and evaluating bids to ensure that equipment up-grades and retro-fits are properly integrated into a customers` power plant.
Understanding of all calculations required to substantiate the OTSG design (e.g. ability to work closely with Project and Design Engineers in the Engineer Department).
Able to assist Engineering in preparing packages for design registration.
Technical review of flowsheets.
Review drawings and documents that have a customer or vendor interface.
Disposition shop non-conformances on assigned projects.
Provide start-up and commissioning supervision on site and integrate process knowledge gained from field experiences into Engineering and Manufacturing.
Prepare and review technical documentation such as Operating and Training Manuals.
Perform customer training and assist with development of `User Group` seminars.
Assist in development of Project Service department Quality Specifications and ISO procedures.
Assist and provide administrative support to Project Services Manager on invoicing, cost estimates, negotiation of warranty and other commercial issues.
Technical support for OTSG erection, start-up, performance testing, and troubleshooting.
Skills
P.Eng (or engineering degree and willingness to obtain same).
Steam process or boiler background.
Good communications and people skills.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Six- seven years in a process industry environment.
Valid Canadian passport and willing to travel.
