Our Client is a leading wholesaler for large consumer products supplying major retailers all over the UK. Due to continued growth and success they are seeking an experienced Buyer / Senior Purchasing Administrator to join their Purchasing team.
The role -
Reporting to the Managing Director, who sources most of the products for the company, you will be responsible for:
* Negotiation with suppliers
* Placing and chasing orders based on selections, forecasts and load ability
* Preparing quote sheets to ensure company margins are achieved
* Ensuring sample requirement is updated and monitored to adhere to strict deadlines
* Partly responsible for setting and following of the Purchasing Budget
* Stock Control
* Monthly replenishment ordering in line with targets and budgets to minimise over and under stock items
* Overseeing year-end Stock Take and Valuation
* Involved in the negotiation of rates with various carriers to ensure best rates are achieved
* Overseeing organisation of air-freight/couriered samples
Requirements -
* Experience within Retail/ Wholesale or distribution is ideal, candidates from a Fast Moving Consumer Goods manufacturing company will also be considered.
* Proven record of purchasing and stock control - even if it is within a predominantly Administration role
* Excellent Literacy and numeracy and analytical skills
* Experience of working for a small business would be an advantage, as is the ability to multi task and the flexibility to get involved in other projects such as event organisation and customer services / account management.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace are essential to be successful in this hard working environment.
