My client, a major international engineering consultancy are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for some of their most prestigious roads and infrastructure projects based in the UAE.
Job Summary:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is charged with the responsibility of correlating information relating to all financial aspects of the project. He should be aware of all financial matters and proper maintaining of quantity books and shall advise the Resident Engineer regarding all financial matters.
He will have a thorough knowledge of the procedures and instructions and efficiently keep current all project records related to quantity surveying. He will be able, from these records, to impart any available information to the Resident Engineer for proper administration of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
o Prepare BOQ recapitulation.
o Prepare Monthly Financial Affairs Report.
o Prepare and Maintain Interim and Final Quantity Books.
o Check the Contractor's interim and final pay certificates.
o Evaluate unit rates for new items of works.
o Check joint measurements for interim payments.
o Compute final pay quantities.
o Maintain current as-built drawings as the work progresses.
o Maintain progress schedule and cash flow chart.
o Assist in preparation of Variation Orders.
o Assist in evaluating claims.
Experience :
o Must have 10 years relevant experience preferably on major roads, highways, interchanges and bridge projects.
o Must be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors
Candidates must also have good knowledge of FIDC conditions of contract and have hands on experience in contracts administration.
RTA Approved candidates will be preferred.
