An independent, not for profit specialist organisation is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Manager to manage a team of skilled researchers to deliver a range of projects to customers. The successful candidate will have responsibility for generating business development ideas, income generation and contribute to wider company progress and continuous improvement.
The Main responsibilities include:
- Proactively identifying new income generating activities in terms of research opportunities
- Working with Directors to win new work from new and existing customers
- Managing projects, from scoping through to completion
- Planing and managing resources effectively including staffing levels as well as financial budgets and targets
- Building strong relationships with clients and intermediaries
- Working initially within the policy arenas of employment and skills to develop new business opportunities
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of implementing/managing research projects
- An ability to develop new relationships and business opportunities
- Prior experience of writing successful tenders
- Expertise in at least one research technique
- Knowledge of Public policy relating to one or more of business and enterprise and skills and
innovation
- A track record in relationship building with key public bodies and other organisations
- Line management experience
