Senior Software Engineer x 2 - Real-Time embedded safety-critical software / low-level platform design
Location - Wiltshire
Salary - £45k-£50k
Senior Embedded Software Practitioners are urgently sought by this world class engineering company who are recruiting very heavily due to substantial investment in their Research and Development and hence increased work load. You will be tasked with developing safety-critical (related) software platforms and performing hardware/software integration activities.
Commutable Locations - Wiltshire , Bath , Somerset , Bristol , Gloucestershire
Senior Software Engineer key responsibilities :
- Design of real-time embedded architectural and services software to international standards for safety critical systems.
- Hardware/software integration, debug and test
- To keep up to date with available and emerging COTS software in high-integrity industries and trends for standardisation, to support software make-or-buy decisions and strategy for future product extension.
- Support to application software teams in the use of the processing platforms
- Technical interface with outsourced contract software teams
Senior Software Engineer Experience and Skills required :
- Experience of safety critical systems is mandatory , this is non - negotiable
- Minimum five years first-hand experience in low-level platform and embedded software design, including the use of PowerPC or similar microprocessors
- Experienced in the use of open architectures and standardised software interfaces as used by the aerospace industry
- Hands-on experience in high-integrity software development programmes including the use of software design and testing tools
