SENIOR SAFETY ENGINEERS
MARINE DEFENCE INDUSTRY
BRISTOL

We are seeking experienced Senior Safety Engineers who will prepare and/or manage a team of staff/contractors to ensure that safety documentation, is produced to the requisite standards, as required by the Plant/Project Manager, in accordance Company Guidance. Due to the nature of the business, this programme extends well into the future.

Based in sought after locations in the UK including Plymouth & Bristol, you will also support other areas of the Company by providing a quality checking service to an agreed scope or area of expertise and will carry out, as appropriate, Quantified Risk Assessments, both deterministic and probabilistic, utilising the techniques of consequence assessment, fault and event tree analysis, reliability analysis and hazard identification studies.

To succeed as Senior Safety Engineer you should be qualified to degree level in a Engineering or Science discipline, with experience in the preparation of the highest level of safety documentation. You must be able to understand and apply as necessary Reliability Assessment, Fault Tree Assessment, HAZOP Studies, Human Reliability Analysis and Radiological Consequence Assessment in the production of safety documents.

Safety Case Engineers/ Authors from safety critical industries will be considered, however those from nuclear or process backgrounds are preferred.

It is essential that you can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, be effective as a team member and are numerate and computer literate. You must also be self motivated and adaptable. In addition to career security, the company offers extensive internal training packages to facilitate the migration of skills.

Due to the security clearance required, these roles are only available to sole British Citizens who have been living in the UK for the last 10 years.

As Senior Safety Engineer you will be joining a world leader offering a complete range of design, build and support solutions across the defence sector as a strategic provider of engineering and support services to the Royal Navy, as well as commercial sectors. In addition to its marine refit and maintenance role, our client works at the earlier stages of major ship design and construction programmes. In the commercial sector they undertake high-tech engineering composite work, overhaul railway equipment and are involved with large yachts and specialist craft. They also undertake nuclear activities, building on their existing skills and project management experience.
