Senior Software Engineer – C, OO, OOD, Objective C, UML – Defence/Scientific software.
The company design and develop Air Defence, Communications, In-flight Entertainment Systems. On-Board Communications. Wireless Systems, Target Orientated Tracking Systems and Sensors.
Senior Software Engineer with a background d in Defence or Scientific software. Requirements Analysis experience. Systems and Software Design experience. Understanding of Full Development Lifecycle. Experience of UML. Strong C background. Strong Object Oriented programming background (Objective C preferred, but any OO language will be accepted)
Role Responsibilities for the Senior Software Engineer
·Managing and motivating a team of Software Engineers to deliver product within the target budget and timescale.
·Managing risks through the identification, quantification and mitigation stages.
·Managing the technical and quality requirements for an allocated product or component.
·Supporting brainstorming and review activities to de-risk the design evolution.
Qualifications
1.General Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Physics or equivalent. First Class Degree, 2:1 pref, good A’Level grades. Higher quals.
Experience
1.Good experience required in a relevant engineering area using appropriate technology (refer to Essential and Desirable requirements).
Essential Requirements:
1.Experience in the following:
·Team Leadership and Managing
·People Requirements Management
·System Design and Development
·Defence or Scientific software pref.
·Requirements Analysis.
2.Experience in one or more of the following:
·Object Oriented Analysis and Design (preferably UML)
·Real Time Design
·UNIX/Linux and/or Windows
·Strong C background
·C, C++, Java, HTML, PHP
·Objective C useful.
·Database Design Application
Desirable Requirements:
1.Experience in the following:
·Project Management
·Object Oriented Analysis and Design
·Planning and estimating
2.Familiarity with the following:
·Testing techniques and strategies
·Configuration Management
3.Experience in the following:
·Hardware Design and COTS selection
