As a provider of multi-disciplined technical services to the built environment Atkins is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine, innovation, imagination and best practice. We require a Senior Transport Modeller for our Abu Dhabi Office who will be working on a wide range of projects of local and regional significance. The successful candidate will be taking a leading role in the transport modelling capability of the Abu Dhabi Transport Planning team, with particular emphasis on strategic transport modelling, single mode and multi-modal.
Requirements
Technical Competencies Essential- BSc in Civil engineering or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience
- Experience in Strategic Transport Modelling, with an appreciation of its application to the fields of Development Planning, Development control and Transport/Traffic Assessment, Master Planning and Urban Regeneration
- Experience and expert in the use of such modelling packages as , Emme3, SATURN and Cube
- Good level of computer literacy in Windows and other Microsoft products
- Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English essential
Desirable- Previous Middle East or Gulf experience, preferably in both the public and private sectors Appreciation of sustainable transport issues and initiatives Appreciation of British, American, International as well as local transport planning practices and standards Working knowledge of transport assessment, preliminary highway design and modelling techniques such as VISSIM, TRANSYT, EMME2, aa SIDRA and Synchro Knowledge of client management, project and financial management

Responsibilities
To complete projects on time, at cost and quality to match or better Atkins QSE standards To build working relationships with clients, networking and promoting the Company To develop relationship with Atkins colleagues outside of business area Ensure skills and capabilities are up to date with current tools and techniques To supervise the work of other members of the team To apply broad professional knowledge and experienced judgement knowing when to refer to more senior staff To implement QA procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians Carry out project work in accordance with local standards and working practices Take a leading role in the strategic transport modelling capability within the team, liaising with other teams and departments as necessary Coordinate with, instruct and supervise or teams members Carry out arithmetical checks and validation of all output To understand and implement QA procedures
