We require a Senior Transport Planner for our Abu Dhabi Office to provide support to the Head of department and work with other team leaders to manage business on a day-to day basis and play significant part in driving it forward. This will include project management of a number of projects and the delivery of technical work to programme and budget.
Requirements Technical Competencies Essential- Civil Engineer or equivalent field with 8 to 12 years experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in transport planning and traffic engineering
- Experience in Development Planning, Development control and Transport/Traffic assessment, Master Planning and urban regeneration, Parking studies
- Experience in construction traffic assessment and traffic management
- Working knowledge in a range of transport appraisal and modelling techniques such as VISSIM, TRANSYT, EMME2, as SIDRA, Synchro and HCS
- Understanding of British, American and International design standards
- Good level of computer literacy in Windows and other Microsoft products
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
- Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential
Desirable- Previous experience of managing Traffic Impact Studies / Projects for public and private sector clients Sustainable transport and travel plans Knowledge of client management, project and financial management

Responsibilities To complete projects on time, at cost and quality to match or better Atkins QSE standards To build working relationships with clients, networking and promoting the Company Responsible for the checking of works done under their supervision Coordination of drawings amongst the team and other disciplines To develop relationship with Atkins colleagues outside of business area To brief project team on work and QSE procedures and to follow their implementation To apply broad professional knowledge and experienced judgement, but knows when to refer to more senior staff Carry out Transport/Traffic design to International and British Standards and Local municipality and Utility Authority regulations To instruct Engineers/ CAD operators in all project related matters To implement QA procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians Carry out design to International and British Standards and Local municipality and Utility Authority regulations Coordinate with Architects, Infrastructure Engineers, Master and Urban planners, Urban designers, Environment Engineers and any other design consultants Coordinate with, instruct and supervise Transport Engineers and AutoCAD Technicians Carry out arithmetical checks and independent design checks of other Engineer's design and design reviews in accordance with Atkins Middle East Quality procedures To supervise Junior Engineers/CAD operators in all project related matters To understand and implement QA procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians To coordinate with other design disciplines as required on a day-to-day basis or as set out by the project requirements
