Engineering Design Manager - Signalling
Based in London
Salaries range from £60,000 to £82,500 + Excellent Benefits Package
My client is a market leader within the rail industry with some very high profile projects in the UK and abroad. Due to a substantial increase in work load and their involvement on high profile project such as Thameslink 2000 - we have a rare opportunity for an Engineering Manager to be involved in the delivery of this high profile project.
Leading a design team, you'll deliver a range of projects on Thameslink. It's a key challenge that will involve ensuring that relevant procedures, standards, controls and best practices are correctly implemented. You'll also provide day-to-day support for staff and take responsibility for approving work and interfacing with the client and the relevant design offices.
The Role:
*As design manager, you will lead the design team delivering a range of signalling projects.
*Manage a team engaged in the production of designs, specifications, reports and working drawings to meet contract requirements within agreed timescales and performance parameters.
*You will thorough understanding of relevant procedures, standards and controls to ensure that projects are implemented correctly.
*You will help further develop a rapidly growing division and be seen as a key figure within the Rail team.
The Requirement:
*You will ideally hold relevant IRSE signalling licenses (i.e Design Managers) as you will be responsible for approving day-to-day work and reporting project progress to the client
*Develop and mentor staff.
*Project Manager with P&L responsibility.
*Carry out safety critical work.
*Extensive experience of UK signaling design.
*Experience of signaling design checking.
