Software Business Development Manager – Home / Field based - £30,000 (£58,000 OTE) + Car Allowance + Benefits - CRM for Schools, Universities, Charities and Arts

I am looking for an experienced Software Business Development Manager with a proven track record of bringing on new business selling software, ideally in the Not for Profit sector – this could include working with schools, colleges, universities, museums, galleries, charities etc.Following a recent acquisition my client is investing heavily in developing the sales and account management function of this successful software house.

Job purpose

Qualify and convert sales leads from the NFP sector

Offer tailored solutions to meet the needs of the prospect

Key accountabilities & tasks

·Send out quotations and information in support of all proposals, in a timely fashion, and inline with companies branding guidelines

·Manage the expectations of prospects during the sales process

·Close sales - working to agreed targets

·Plan and prioritise personal sales activity - managing personal time and productivity

·Ensure sales deliver on market development strategy

·Provide demonstrations of our products and services to prospects: remotely, onsite and at events

·Administrate activity - Keep clear record of communications, visits and so on

·Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally effectively, building sustainable relationships

·Provide comprehensive and timely hand-overs to the Professional Services Team (including possible future development of all new clients)

·Attend monthly sales meeting and report back on sales activity

·Be available both at the offices in Bristol and on the telephone when required

·Develop relationship with consultants in the charity sector

And other tasks as required from time to time

Knowledge & skills

·You must be highly motivated, professional and polished

·Excellent presentation skills

·Closing & negotiation skills

·Maintain a high level of understanding of the products and services offered by the company

·Maintain a good level of knowledge about the charity / education / arts sector

·Have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own

·Previous sales experience with a proven track record of success, ideally within the charity, education or voluntary arenas

·An appreciation of software solutions or database technologies

·Previous experience from the not-for-profit sector or extensive IT Knowledge & experience

Additional information

·Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills

·Requires substantial travel

If you are:

  • An experienced Business Development Manager
  • Know about Software (preferably CRM or related software packages and services)
  • Are a confident presenter (you will give product demonstrations in this role and meet clients face to face as well as telesales activities)
  • Understand the Not for Profit sector and the type of approach that’s required in order to be successful
