Responsibilities of the Software Developer:
Working as a Software Developer for one of the leading financial services / insurance organisations based in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire (21 mins from Kings Cross) is a fantastic opportunity to use your actuarial and insurance knowledge in the development of business critical SQL Server / Access, Visual Basic and Excel VBA software applications. As a Software Developer you will be expected to have good skills in SQL Server, Access, Visual Basic, VB.Net and Excel VBA.
The successful candidate is also expected to have been an Actuarial student or be a part qualified Actuary with good mathematical / statistical skills as well as experience of developing FSA / SMPI based illustration systems in the UK Life insurance industry. All Software Developers please read on!
Of particular interest would be experience in patterns based, object oriented, component based and service oriented (SOA) best practice, XML, Origo, Agile, RUP but these are by no means essential.
As a crucial part of Software Development team you will define the design and implementation of Illustration Systems developments, design, develop and implement new systems and coordinate code deployments to functional and integration test environments.
This role will require someone who is able to plan, organise and manage tasks, collaborate to determine business requirements and work well in a team to improve processes and procedures.
