Description
Gemini Network Media is a fast growing venture capital funded, start-up company working in the sport and leisure industry to provide cutting edge web-based solutions. Working closely with national sporting unions and a number of familiar brands, Gemini is an exciting and fast paced company to work in.
As the company grows we require a strong solution architect who can both design and lead the implementation of a number of exciting web based projects. The role requires someone who can engage with both company directors and third party partners to understand the vision of a product and take it forward within a development team using the skills of a business analyst, project manager and a team of developers to successfully deliver the project within the company’s enterprise architecture.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in working as the lead developer of a number of projects in a range of technologies. This is a key role within the company and as such the recruitment process will involve being able to demonstrate your skills with a coding problem.

Required Experience
The ideal candidate will have
·A university degree in a computer science and at least 5 years experience in software engineering
·Experience of different types of projects ideally with some blue chip company experience
·Strong experience in the designing, implementing and reporting of large relational databases
·A proven ability in more than one OO language (C#, Java, C++, PHP, Ruby.. etc)
·Knowledge of emerging technologies and W3C standards
·A strong understanding of the challenges of web-based application development
·Developed service oriented architectures for B2B integration
·Experience of project management, team leadership and developer training
·Experience of creating n-tier software architectures using best practices including design patterns
·Ability to work well in a fast paced demanding environment
·Full software lifecycle experience including best practices in version control, testing, deployment
·Experience managing the outsourcing of part or whole projects
The candidate must have specific tool and language experience of the following:
·C# software development using Microsoft .Net 3.5
·SQL Server administration & reporting
·Windows Server 2003 remote administration
·Open source development specifically Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP (LAMP)
Experience or knowledge of the following would be beneficial
·Experience of reservation or scheduling systems
·Knowledge of the leisure industry specifically Golf
·White label template based web development
·Email template creation and distribution
·Integration of online payment gateways
·Business administration
