Our Energy division supports the Nuclear, Power and Oil and Gas sectors and is a leading consultancy providing multidisciplinary support services to all project stages from concept through to completion.

The Nuclear Decommissioning office based in West Cumbria is a buoyant and growing part of our business.

We have a variety of interesting and challenging work including static and seismic design and assessment, long term structural integrity studies and impact and dropped load assessments, and currently have projects on a number of sites including Sellafield, Dounreay in the North of Scotland and Dungeness in Kent.

We have career opportunities for Structural Engineers at various level ranging from Graduates with recent engineering experience to seniors with a flair for technical delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
Structural Engineers will be involved in some or all of the following:
  • Development and delivery of solutions to technical problems
  • Production and checking of high quality design deliverables – reports and calculations
  • Supervision of the production of design deliverables
  • Preparation of technical specifications
  • Client liaison
  • Bid preparation
  • Management of technical delivery of projects


Requirements
  • Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering or related discipline
  • An aptitude for writing for the benefit of reports
  • An acceptable level of previous engineering experience including design.
  • Experience of highly regulated UK industries would be beneficial plus an understanding of relevant legislative standards
  • You will be driven to meet targets, and have a high level of commercial awareness and will have demonstrated the ability to work within budget and programme

Essential

  • Due to the nature of work undertaken at our clients' site offices, candidates for some opportunities will need to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance and should therefore be willing to undergo a security vetting process
  • Candidates will also be required to successfully pass a site medical examination for reasons of health and safety
