A well known FMCG Food Service company, requires a Supply Chain Manager, where you will be responsible for a portfolio of food and related services, driving forward long term innovative strategies.
This Supply Chain Manager role will see you:
- Controlling an annual spend in the region of £25 - 30 million.
- Ensuring all food related services are procured in a cost effective and efficient manner whilst retaining excellent working relations with suppliers.
- Take full responsibility for all frozen, chilled and ambient food, ensuring quality, cost and service is maintained.
- You will be working alongside a third party distribution company for both wholesale and central distribution, with the goal to continually beat 99% service levels.
- Active involvement in forecasting and in new product development, plus the development of existing products.
- Keep user areas appraised of changes and movements of price, market conditions, trends and forecasts to enable revenue and profit to be maximised.
- Going the extra mile by addressing industry issues, attending trade fairs and exhibitions, to ensure the company culture is always thinking forward.
- Execute the procurement program with a strategic and business view, taking into account how the company operates.
- Ensure the purchasing function is competitive in the market, making sure price, logistics, terms and contractual agreements are continuously reviewed.
- Liaise with contractors / suppliers / third party distribution companies and user areas to ensure a continual smooth operation and well managed supply chain.
To succeed in this Supply Chain Manager role you will need:
- A solid background within supply chain ideally in a Food FMCG environment
- Have the presence to deal with key stakeholders
- Excellent communicator, with the confidence to communicate at all levels of the business
- In depth knowledge of strategic purchasing methodology
- Excellent negotiation & influencing skills
- A track record of achievements
- Be degree educated and ideally hold professional membership i.e. MCIPS
- Analysis exposure with first class Excel skills
- Flexible approach with ability to travel both within the UK and internationally
