World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage & Bristol (you can be based from Stevenage or Bristol depending on your preference) is currently looking to recruit a Synthetic Environment Engineer.
Please Note: you must have current SC (Secret Level) Security Clearance.
The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after).
The rate on offer is £Negotiable
Synthetic Environment Engineer Job Description:
Responsible for development of software components and toolsets and their integration on programmes in the Land, Sea and Air domains. Each programme is different, but commonly extends to simulation of many of the battlefield participants; Command and Control structures, Platforms and Weapon Systems.
As a member of a focussed and dynamic team, explore and exploit new technologies, in both the defence and commercial markets, and take ownership of their design, development and integration to enhance international SE capability. Work closely with customers, both internal and external, and partner companies at both a national and international level.
Candidates will have experience in these essential skills:
• Software Engineering
• C/C++, C#
• Networking and network protocols
Preference will be given for candidates who also have experience of:
• DIS, HLA, TENA protocols
• Visualisation programming: DirectX, OpenGL, Graphics/Games Engines
• Java, .NET,
• Real-time software development
• Systems Engineering
• Military Communications and Datalinks
• Database development
• UML
• Programme Management
