World class Defence Organisation based in Bristol is currently looking to recruit a Systems Engineer Tools Developer.
Please Note: you must have current SC (Secret Level) Security Clearance.
The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after). The rate on offer is around £40ph
Systems Engineer Tools Developer Job Description:
Provision of “in-project” user support to systems engineering activities.
Key responsibilities include:
: Assessing current expertise relating to core Systems Engineering tools such as Rhapsody, DOORS and Dimensions and developing/delivering process improvement.
: Providing in-project consultancy style support to key projects, in particular during their start-up phase, tailored to project needs to ensure maximum project benefit is obtained from tool use.
: Provision of appropriate training on tool usage to project Systems Engineers, in particular use of Rhapsody.
: Supporting Rhapsody Gateway linking UML artefacts to requirements managed in DOORS
Supporting implementation of Product Lifecycle Collaborative Environment (PLCE) as part of First 2010.
: Liaising with the wider IM function in order to support the systems engineering tools.
: Ensure, in assigned areas, the organisation has the capability, skills, systems and tools to support business success both now and in the future.
: Supply technical understanding and support in areas of own expertise, promoting a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation, and contributing to relevant overall engineering technical activities:
: Initiate and lead process and technology improvements to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time and asset utilisation.
: Manage and report against the group’s work programmes, including analysis of risk, to ensure the group delivers its accountabilities.
The skills & knowledge required for this role are:
: A sound understanding of state of the art systems engineering tools and their application in the systems engineering domain.
: Significant use/experience of SysML, UML, DOORS and Dimensions on major projects
: Degree qualified or equivalent, plus substantial relevant experience.
: Technical authority in one/more area(s) (recognised by customers and suppliers and by all other areas of the Organisation as an expert), with application to one or more programmes and phases of the engineering life cycle.
: Acquire & drive new techniques/technology successfully into the business.
