JOB DESCRIPTIONTITLE:AREA MANAGER
SALARY:£22,000 + benefits
LOCATION:Cheshire
RESPONSIBLE TO:Regional ManagerHOURS OF WORK:35 hours per week (flexibility of working outside these hours is required to meet the needs of this post)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB·To be responsible for the support and development, in all aspects, of the Company Centres within a designated area.
LINE MANAGEMENT & SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
·When running sessions, you will be responsible for staff.
·To be responsible for the support, development and performance for a number of work colleagues
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·To proactively manage and implement all aspects of centre development, ensuring that the centres in the area reach and maintain quality standards enabling them to meet growth and quality targets.
·To maintain close working relationships within the organisation throughout assigned geographical area.
·To regularly visit all offices within the assigned area and to provide timely and detailed management information i.e. current performance levels and proposals and guidance information on improvement areas.
Regular Communication·To proactively and consistently provide adequate support and guidance for staff i.e. in areas of achieving targets, advise on recruitment issues; offer advice on centre promotion etc.
·To be responsible on an ongoing basis for training/workshops, presentations and meetings for Staffin a timely manner which meets needs of the Company
·To monitor performance and conduct regarding the delivery of the Company’s Method and Brand and to draw any concerns to the Regional Manager’s attention.
·To run a Session, as a trainer, for a period of time or as and when required.
·To work and liaise closely with other associates within the same and other departments to develop effective systems and good practice within the Centre Development function.
·To seek advice from external agencies in order to provide practical guidance and support to work colleagues in marketing their centres e.g. organising group adverts, advising on centre promotion etc
·To oversee centre closures and take-overs in conjunction with other business development associates.
·To work closely with the Regional Manager to identify any issues and concerns regarding Centre Development and implement change as and when required.
·To be assigned in project work as and when required i.e. organising workshops, assisting in conference organisation.
·To build and maintain thorough product knowledge through completion of worksheets.
·To be proactive and committed to an ongoing programme of professional self-development.
·To produce, monitor and review accurate records including statistical information as and when required.
·To attend supervision, training and meetings as and when required. There may be a necessity for these to be outside of normal working times at weekends for which TOIL time would be awarded.
·To work with, abide to and positively promote all the company’s policies and/or procedures including but not limited to, health and safety matters.
·To carry out all reasonable duties as and when requested by your line manager or any other senior management member.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
·Proven experience in a relevant field i.e. training, business, teaching
·Experience of preparing, managing and monitoring imaginative & innovative projects and/ or work programmes that meet & exceed targets.
·Experience of working to deadlines and managing varied tasks within workload.
·A degree or equivalent qualification - proficiency in Maths and English
·Professional manner, enthusiastic, positive, motivated, diplomatic and patient
·Can demonstrate a positive and proactive ability in a wide range of activities.
·Understanding concepts and ethos of the company
·Ability to communicate clearly & effectively with a broad range of individuals both orally and in writing.
·Ability to confidently present business issues to a broad range of individuals.
·Ability to work as a team member whilst at the same time, work on own initiative.
·Ability to motivate, organise and effectively lead people and projects as and when required.
·Ability to manage and schedule large and varied workloads.
·Ability to implement effective procedures and systems concerning all aspects of development.
·Experience of dispute/conflict resolution.
·Negotiation skills
·Computer literate in a variety of packages including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
·Full drivers licence
·Appreciation of Customer Care.
·On occasion, can be varied & un-social hours (including evenings & weekends) therefore a flexible approach to working hours
