Team Manager - Social Care
Supported Living
Location Wolverhampton, West Midlands
Salary £15,000 - £21,000
Qualifications; NVQ Level 3 Care
36 hours/week

We are looking for a full time team manager to work in a service
supporting 6 individuals all who have a learning disability and autism.
The 6 individuals will all be living in their own self contained flat but
the flats will all be based together as one service
To be a team manager, we expect you to be able to do the following:
Communication Skills
You will need to communicate clearly, adapting what you say and how you say it taking into account the communication deficits people with Autism may have.You will be able to communicate using a variety of methods in both formal and informal settings, effectively communicating with teams to achieve work objectives.
Working in Partnership
Work in partnership with internal and external customers.
Be required to support the service manager to build external partnerships with community groups and stakeholders. This will require flexibility and a 'can do' approach.
Team Work
Be a strong leader, and foster team spirit to achieve desired outcomes in difficult circumstances. You will continually monitor and review team performance through OWOW performance reviews and staff meetings.
Motivating and Developing Self and Others
Have confidence in your own ability as a team manager. You will recognise your skills, abilities and achievements through your knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions, and support your colleagues and the teams you line manage in their development
Planning and Organising
Be adept in planning and organising complex situations, and deliver the quality both the people we support, our regulators and our commissioners expected.
Be experienced at co-ordinating and leading meetings inside and outside of the organisation.
Be expected to assist the people we support in the following ways:
Help key-workers in the co-ordination of support for people with Autism.
Understand the National Minimum Standards for Domiciliary care.
Keep up to date on current legislation and good practice pertaining to adults with Autism.
Help people to be as independent as possible in all areas of their life.
Support people to find opportunities in education, employment and leisure.
Help the service users to manage their own money.
Support people with their day to day travel arrangements and holidays as required.
Must be prepared to work flexibly. This includes working weekends, nights, bank holidays (including Christmas and New Year) and to do sleep-ins where required.
Must keep appropriate records as required. This includes completing support plans, financial records and health & safety records.
