Team Managers - Roles available nationally
£28,765 (this figure includes up to 20% shift allowance) + £1,000 additional allowance for South East region
North East - We are recruiting for vacancies at Calder Park RCC, Wakefield / Carville, Durham. We are recruiting to a waiting list for Barton, Darlington.
In an increasingly fast-moving world, our roads are getting busier every day. Keeping the motorway network safe and easing congestion is a top priority for the Highways Agency.
As the first line manager for a team of Regional Control Centre Operators or Traffic Officers, you will minimise the impact of congestion associated with road network incidents and events, whilst making a real difference to road safety and reliability for all users. Monitoring performance and developing the capabilities of the individuals within your team, you will impact on a range of key performance measures regarding resource planning, vehicles and safety.
Conscientious, unflappable and highly professional, you have the ability to prioritise and make the best use of available resources. To manage our team effectively, you will have developed your coaching skills in a similar customer-facing management role. As we operate a 24/7, 365 day operation, you will also need a flexible attitude towards working shifts. As this is a ‘‘safety critical” role, it is important that you live less than 1 hour’s drive from your chosen location.
Please indicate your preferred location when you get in touch. To be considered, you must be eligible to remain and take up employment in the UK, please visit www.highways.gov.uk/jobs/14798.aspx
You can find out more and apply online, at www.highways.gov.uk/trafficjobsw4 (via the apply online function), Alternatively please call the recruitment team on 0800 082 1078 quoting reference P011.
Closing date: 3 December 2009. Assessment Centres will take place in January 2010.
