My client is a major international shipping company, engaged primarily in the oil and gas industry.
They are currently recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the position of Technical Manager in West Africa to oversee the technical management of a large fleet of vessels in the Angola Region.
You will have worked overseas before and have had exposure to ship operations and man-management responsibilities. You will have been accountable for control of budgets and project management.
An ability to work as part of a team is essential and you should be able to communicate effectively across many and varied cultural backgrounds.
The successful applicant will satisfy the following minimum qualifications and requirements:
1. Chief Engineer Class 1 Certificate of Competency with experience as Chief Engineer on Platform Supply and Anchor Handling and Towing vessels
2. Minimum 5 years experience as Engineering Superintendent
3. Experience with vessel dry-dockings, major repairs and modifications
4. Good leadership and communication skills and ability to work unsupervised
5. Computer literacy, and familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software
