Technical Support Engineer
The Technical Support Engineer will report directly to the Head of Technical Support Services, you will be required to liaise with Project/Product Development Managers, Developers, Validation, Operational staff and customers
Working with the development and operations teams you will be responsible for resolving bug fixes/faults which relate to the suite of products which you support. In addition you will be responsible for ensuring the internal quality procedures are followed so that ACIS meets ISO conformity regarding software development.
Your main areas of responsibility will be:
- Providing technical support, through answering support queries via telephone, email and remote control software,
- Responding to enquiries from internal and external customers and help them to resolve any hardware and software problems
- Supporting users in the use of in house software or hardware by providing necessary training and advice
- Fault diagnosis, analysis of fault logs, re-creation of problems reported and testing of fault corrections with an emphasis being on SQL related issues
The Technical Support Engineer will desirably be educated to HND level in a relevant discipline preferably computer science and ideally experienced in first and second line support on enterprise solutions within a technical environment.You must be technically competent in at least one of the following, .Net, ASP, SQL 2000, ARM, java, C,C++, and assembler, CAN, serial devices and mobile communications.
You will need to be able to demonstrate your understanding of client needs, customer service skills, your ability to prioritise workloads, time management skills, as well as an ability to display a pro active approach, and be able to work effectively within a team.
