Cummins in Huddersfield are seeking an experienced Test Technology Manager to further compliment the organisation. Working in partnership with the largest engine designers in the automotive sector, our UK head office and state of the art technical centre provide the base to deliver innovative and practical turbocharger applications for a new generation of engines.
We are seeking an experienced Test Technology Manager to join the Laboratory Operations team to manage the design, implementation and maintenance of turbocharger test facilities worldwide in support of all R&D, New Product Introduction and Current Product Support activities.
As a key member of the Laboratory Operations management team, duties will include:
• Management of staff and resources to complete group workload and achieve overall departmental objectives
• Leading the design, implementation and maintenance of capable and accurate test facilities world wide including:
o the building of new facilities along with the refurbishment and upgrading of existing test installations
o the development of computing and controls systems to capture test data
o the development of test rigs for component durability and performance testing
o the development and implementation capable maintenance procedures
• Development of processes to ensure reliable delivery of test facility capital projects to plan and on budget.
• Working with relevant component experts and functional specialists to develop and implement new methods of testing.
• Develop strategy for the introduction of future test technologies to the Laboratory Operations department.
You should have a degree in engineering or related subject area and ideally be a member of a professional body. You should also have demonstrable experience in developing and implementing test technology from strategic perspective, ideally with in the automotive, power or gas industry, You should also be able to demonstrate a desire to progress and succeed, be able to work as part of a local and remote teams, as part of intact and cross functional project teams as well as independently.
